Virginia Christman is an artist and photographer who lives and works in North Carolina.
The natural world is a place of great peace and joy, and landscape photography aims to capture the essence of particular spaces of natural beauty. Frustrated with my own attempts at capturing landscapes, I began curating items from the land and creating collages as a way to zoom in on the intricacies that create our favorite sweeping views. Each photograph is a collection of beautiful details that point to a particular time and space—a family garden in springtime, a local farm's harvest, a favorite park, a backyard full of memories, a bride's wedding bouquet--deconstructed or arranged to elevate the viewer’s awareness of the artistry embedded in the natural world while creating a sense of place that returns us to the landscapes we love.
